1. Introduction
At Pistis Life & Leadership Institute (PLLI), we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, requiring students to defer their enrollment. This policy outlines the process and conditions under which students may request deferment from their program.
2. Eligibility for Deferment
A student may request deferment under the following conditions:
- Medical or personal health challenges.
- Family emergencies or unforeseen personal circumstances.
- Extreme work-related commitments (for corporate-sponsored students).
- Financial constraints requiring temporary withdrawal.
- Other significant reasons, subject to PLLI’s review and approval.
3. Deferment Guidelines
- Deferment is allowed once per program cycle and must be requested before the final 25% of the course/program duration.
- A deferred student must resume studies within one year of approval; failure to do so may require re-enrollment.
- Fees already paid will be transferred to the new enrollment period but may be subject to adjustments if there are changes in tuition or program structure.
- Deferment is not applicable for short-term courses or workshops lasting less than six weeks.
4. Application Process
- The student must submit a signed formal request letter via email to PLLI Official Email at least 7 days before the intended deferment date.
- The request must include:
- Full name
- Program name
- Reason for deferment
- Expected resumption date
- Any supporting documentation (if applicable)
- If the student is corporate-sponsored or expression-sponsored, the letter should be on official letterhead from the sponsoring organization/expression.
- Attach supporting documents where applicable (e.g., medical reports, employer letter).
- Send the request to PLLI Official Email – office@plli.org at least 7 days before your intended deferment date.
- PLLI will review the request and respond within five business days with approval, conditions, or alternative options.
- Approved deferments are granted for a maximum of 6 months, after which the student must either resume or reapply.
- A student can defer only once per program unless there are exceptional circumstances.
5. Resumption & Re-Enrollment After Deferment
- The student must notify PLLI via email at least 14 days before their intended return date.
- Reinstatement is subject to availability and any revised program structure or fees.
- Resuming students may be placed in the next available cohort or required to complete bridging modules if the curriculum has changed.
6. Financial Considerations
- Tuition and fees already paid may be credited toward the next available session upon resumption.
- Refunds will not be issued for deferment; however, a student may transfer their enrollment to another session within the deferment period.
For sponsored students, if the sponsor agrees, the sponsorship remains active upon the student’s return, allowing them to continue learning under the sponsorship. If the sponsor withdraws support due to deferment or any other reasons, the student may need to self-fund their remaining program.
