Meet the MLCP Basic Graduate, Gabriel

Based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, Gabriel is a civil servant with a deep passion for serving God and people. A proud member of The Elevation Church, Abeokuta, he has faithfully served in leadership roles within the Social Media and Multimedia units of his church, coordinating dedicated teams to ensure communication excellence both online and in person.

 

Beyond church, Gabriel has also led in the corporate space, particularly in business, where he gained experience in organization, teamwork, and strategic thinking. He recently got married, and he is now navigating a new season that has further shaped his sense of responsibility, commitment, and partnership in ministry.

The Search Before MLCP

Before enrolling in the Ministry Leadership Certificate Program (MLCP) – Basic Tier, Gabriel desired deeper accountability and consistency in his walk with God and ministry. He longed for spiritual maturity that would show up in his decision-making, patience, and relationships.

“I realized true impact requires not just zeal, but endurance and the right heart posture,” he recalls. He also sought practical wisdom for making disciples—not just gathering people into church activities but raising true followers of Christ.

The Turning Point: Choosing MLCP

Gabriel’s decision to join MLCP was influenced by his Resident Pastor, who strongly recommended the program.

He describes the experience as:

“Refreshing and eye-opening. The courses were detailed, and while the worksheets were demanding, they pushed me to reflect deeply on my growth.”

Inside the Experience

For Gabriel, MLCP was a turning point:

Since completing the program, Gabriel testifies of tangible growth:

  • Personal Life: Greater discipline, intentionality with time, deeper accountability, and improved patience.

  • Ministry: A renewed focus on transformation and discipleship over tasks and activities. He now leads with greater clarity and vision, equipping others to grow spiritually.

 

A defining moment for him was when a team member arrived late to a program. Instead of reacting in frustration, he responded with patience, guided the team calmly, and turned the situation into a mentoring opportunity. “That moment confirmed my growth in patience, accountability, and discipleship,” he shares.

His Advice to Others

To anyone considering MLCP but unsure if it’s worth it, Gabriel’s words are clear:

“You should start immediately!”
